Decision P4-004 — Map Definition MCP Surface for External LLMs. Purpose: external LLMs (Claude, GPT, Perplexity, opencode) define the work — Work Objects, Contracts, Workstations, Routings — without seeing internal storage; the DO enforces deterministically. Surface shape (Q-I): grouped MCP tools with Zod structured inputs — we_brief (getBrief/getReport/getRunLog), we_define (work objects/contracts/workstations/routings/allocations/characteristics/evidence + linkRecords/reviseRecord + validateRouting/validateWorkMap), we_run (startLot/evaluateGate/markLotVerdict/claimWorkstation/appendRunLog), we_map (findMap/graphView/getRecord). Each group resolves project from explicit arg or default_project; all mutations callsign-attributed; flat verb surface remains internal. Definition semantics: contract-first (every workstation references or implies a contract), characteristics remain the checkable units citing contractId, incremental definition, versioned + reversible via reviseRecord supersession. Validation (Q-F): activation concept dropped v1 — lots reference any validated routing; validation-only rules: referenced IDs exist, no cycles, production before quality, quality stations have linked contracts, no orphaned work objects; startLot refuses routings with errors. In-flight lots: snapshot stationIds at startLot so routing revisions never affect running lots. Security: definition ≠ execution; we_run requires the operator join (P4-002).
